The Village of Pleasantville has one (1) vacancy on the Village Council and is seeking a qualified resident who is interested in this opportunity to serve their community and help shape its future. Interested candidates should submit their Letter of Interest and resume to the Village Municipal Office no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The Office is open Monday through Friday from noon until 4:00 PM and is located at 101 S. Main St., next to the Post Office.

This seat will serve a term beginning now through 2027. Council meets the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers located in the Maintenance Building at 106 E. Columbus St., Pleasantville.
Qualifications — Ohio Revised Code § 731.12
Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 731.12, each member of the Village Council must have resided in the Village for at least one year immediately preceding election and must be a qualified elector of the Village. A Council member may not hold any other public office, be interested in any contract with the Village, or be employed by the Village, except that a member may serve as a notary public, a member of the state militia, or as a volunteer firefighter of the Village, provided no additional compensation is received for such volunteer service.
Any member who ceases to meet these qualifications or who removes residence from the Village shall forfeit the office.
