Notice to Contractors — Walnut Street Tank Improvements

Bids due Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 2:00 PM

Sealed bids for the Walnut Street Tank Improvements project will be received by the Village of Pleasantville at the Pleasantville Municipal Building, 101 South Main Street, Pleasantville, Ohio 43148 until Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM local time, and then and there publicly opened and read.

The Walnut Street Tank Improvements project generally consists of cleaning the tank interior, performing minor painting, installing a new tank vent, and completing other miscellaneous improvements.

Bid Documents as prepared by Verdantas may be examined free of charge during normal business hours at the following locations:

  • Pleasantville Municipal Building, 101 South Main Street, Pleasantville, Ohio 43148, Ph. (740) 468-2237 (noon to 4pm).

The bid specifications, drawings, plan holders list, addenda, and other bid information (but not the bid forms) may be viewed and/or downloaded for free via the internet at https://bids.verdantas.com. Each bidder is responsible for checking the website for addenda and obtaining all addenda issued for the project.

Bids must be in accordance with drawings and specifications and on forms available from Verdantas LLC at a non-refundable cost of $100.00 for hard copies and $45.00 for electronic files. Documents may be ordered by registering and paying online at https://bids.verdantas.com. Please contact planroom@verdantas.com or call (440) 530-2351 if you encounter any problems viewing, registering or paying for the documents.

Bidders are required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the Bid Price or certified check, cashier’s check or letter of credit equal to ten percent of the bid amount to guarantee the Bidder’s entrance into a contract, if awarded the project.

Each bid must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the bid and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity, and a complete listing of all subcontractors to be used. Submit your offer on the Bid Form provided within these Bid Documents.

Each Bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, ancestry, or age. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project shall to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required.

Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Fairfield County as determined by the State of Ohio Prevailing Wage Determinations.

The Engineer’s base bid estimate is as follows: $100,000.00

Your offer will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission. In the event that the Owner is unable to obtain an Agreement with the Bidder initially selected, the Owner may award the contract to the next bid, most favorable to the Owner.

The right is reserved by the Owner to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informality in bids received and to accept any bid which is deemed to be the lowest and best bid.

Village of Pleasantville Council

Open Seat

The Village of Pleasantville has one (1) vacancy on the Village Council and is seeking a qualified resident who is interested in this opportunity to serve their community and help shape its future. The role is both rewarding and challenging, requiring thoughtful decision-making, collaboration, and commitment to public service.

Interested candidates should submit their Letter of Interest and resume to the Village Municipal Office no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. The Office is open Monday through Friday from noon until 4:00 PM and is located at 101 S. Main St., next to the Post Office.

Letters of Intent and resumes can also be emailed to va@villageofpleasantville.com no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

This seat will serve a term beginning now through 2027. Council meets the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers located in the Maintenance Building at 106 E. Columbus St., Pleasantville.

Qualifications — Ohio Revised Code § 731.12

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 731.12, each member of the Village Council must have resided in the Village for at least one year immediately preceding election and must be a qualified elector of the Village. A Council member may not hold any other public office, be interested in any contract with the Village, or be employed by the Village, except that a member may serve as a notary public, a member of the state militia, or as a volunteer firefighter of the Village, provided no additional compensation is received for such volunteer service.

Any member who ceases to meet these qualifications or who removes residence from the Village shall forfeit the office.

Walnut Creek Sewer Board

Open Seat

The Village of Pleasantville is currently accepting applications for one seat on the WCSD Board representing the Village of Pleasantville. This individual will attend monthly meetings representing the Village of Pleasantville and oversee and direct operations and funding for the Walnut Creek Sewer District.

Interested candidates should submit their Letter of Interest and resume to the Village Municipal Office no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. The Office is open Monday through Friday from noon until 4:00 PM and is located at 101 S. Main St., next to the Post Office.

You must be 18 years of age and live within the Village of Pleasantville to apply. The open seat will serve a three (3) year term from 2026 through 2029.

The WCSD Board meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in Thurston, OH.
